It's eminently practical with a CD or DVD recorder (I'd recommend the latter at this stage). Build it into an AC-powered base station which would recharge the battery and download the contents from the device's memory.


Given that 1- to 4-GB flash memory is readily available and that the box has up to 60 GB of hard drive, DVD-ROM is the logical choice and full-size (rather than the small discs in Sony cameras) is not too large. In addition, one would not need to use UDF; conventional mastering would be the choice and single session would be sufficient.
