In this day and age, with slightly used "refurbished" computers which aren't that old selling for $100 to $200 (Wintel, anyway) and hard drives selling new for prices like 200GB for $99, it should be fairly simple and cheap to have a dedicated machine with more than one HD for use as a "sound archive" as well as a CD-R creator...
