I still remember buying my first records of popular music...and speaking
of record stores...the New Rochelle house of music, which also sold
instruments and sheet music...with the clerk asking me if I wanted it on 45
or 78. As to the quantity I don't know any statistics but you can find
people like Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, the Crickets, Bobby Freeman (from
1958), the Del Vikings, Little Richard and even the "King" on 78s.
