THE CARE AND CONSERVATION OF GLASS CHANDELIERS

ABSTRACT—Glass chandeliers are large, complex, and fragile. They are a challenge to conserve and care for properly. This article will help provide some of the technical, specialized information needed to make chandelier conservation and care easier and safer. Terminology, history, stylistic development, safe handling, disassembly, reassembly, conservation, and restoration techniques for glass chandeliers are discussed.
