[PADG:113] Re: FW: Source of Book Copier?

I think the BookMaster is an aftermarket Mita modified by an english firm (of the same name), and defunct as far as I know. Kyocera-Mita doesn't list any OEM products like this on their site, and their changeover to digital copying may be hanging up the BookMaster folks. Their vendor's site suggests that they may have refurbished or old stock available, though:

I thought Mita still made the bookmaster 1600 or some version of it...?

The only comparable photocopier solution I'm aware of right now are the

retrofit available from Binder Minder (http://www.binderminder.com).
Some overhead scanners (the Minolta PS series, for instance) can also
operate in a direct-print mode, but the controls for these may be a
little complex for public service applications.

Hope this helps,
Jake

Subject: Source of Book Copier?

Hello:

We are trying to replace our Xerox Bookmark 35 copier with a new
copier
that also has the beveled-edge that protects the book's spine. We
had
hoped to buy the Digital Bookmark by Xerox, but as it turns out that
model has now been discontinued!!!

Can anyone point me toward another brand of book copier with this
feature?

If (as I fear) theses are no longer available, what have libraries
been
doing about replacing their copiers and still protecting book
spines?

Thanks,
