Minnesota Citizens' Guide for Government Information Policy
December 1996
The full report from the Minnesota Government Information Access
Council (GIAC) is now available. The report represents over two years
of work by the legislatively created council. It presents
recommendations and principles that provide a long-term framework for
addressing the challenging policy issues the
"information age" brings to Minnesota's democracy and government.
The report details recommendations in the areas of systems design,
training, government on-line, information policy organization and
enforcement, community access, and others. Guiding principles as well
as detailed working group reports are included.
How to Access the Report:
Those with access to the Internet are encouraged to download the
>report from the GIAC World-Wide-Web site. The layout of the report is
essentially identical to that of the print version.
