I am a member of the ISO TC42 imaging standards committee. The subject
of
"Life Expectancy" comes up often. In my opinion, there is no way that
we can
attach an LE to a particular archival medium because there are too many
variables.
Film has a very long LE if frozen but how do you read the audio tracks
in 100
years if you cannot find a THX or Dolby reader?
