Not as much. The more you do the better.

One of our studios (2000sqft) has carpet just around the set area. The
ceiling and walls are treated to help reduce sound. We have very little
to
no problems here. 

The other is a "classroom" studio about 1100 sgft. This room has
everything
needed to cut out sound bounce. Fiber boards on the walls, carpet on the
floor, etc. The only thing to reflex sound are the tables used by the
students. 

The other thing is, you will have people, backdrops, equipment, etc that
will help to absorb some of the sound.
