Polycarbonate is extremely stable and aluminum is not. Each CD manufacturer use different process techniques. Therefore, one manufacturer may seal the outer edge and not the inner. Another manufacturer may seal the inner edge and not the outer. In the case of the cheap Chinese CD-Rs, I suspect that neither edge is sealed. Use gold CD-Rs and you will be safe. Jim Wheeler
