Re: [ARSCLIST] LP sized scanner

I've seen an 11.7 x 17 scanner-Mustek A3 1200 Pro USB, offered on eBay,
Amazon and various dealers, priced around $175.
Have NO experience with it, nor are there many good reviews.
Seems very basic, but might be useful if you are NOT seeking high resolution
professional quality, just an easy way to capture some cover art or liner
notes. The 11.7 ought to capture most covers.
If anyone DOES have experience using this machine, please let us know!!!
Thanks.
Best wishes, Thomas.

Subject: [ARSCLIST] LP sized scanner

Are there any non-ridicu-priced options for a flatbed scanner that can
accomodate LP covers (at
least 12x12 glass)?

How about using a copy-stand that was once used for a video camera and
slow-scan TV? That copy stand
has gooseneck type "arms" with floodlight bulbs in them. Would that be what
I need or something
else? Would this work with a Nikon D70 digi-SLR?

Has anyone done LP covers in mass quantities before? Is there some efficient
and cost-effective way
I'm not considering?
