The issue is not quality. One can get exactly the same quality as CD-DA on CD-ROM with lossless compression (FLAC, APE, etc.) for 150 minutes or more. The only problem is that the resulting disc *will not play* in a conventional CD player. Such a machine plays CD-DA discs. Some also play other formats, but that's a whole other story or three.
