[ARSCLIST] OT: Thoughts on Out of Context posting....

Hello All,

It is my general belief and perhaps common consensus, that out of scope
additions to threads are a main contributor to the poor signal to noise
ratio of the postings to this list, which is why I for one, post only
when I have something of value to add.

However, posting out of context remarks, which add value, could be
properly noted in the subject line to alert readers, where a post is
headed.

A recent thread on "scratchin" contains 28 current emails, many of which
are well beyond the initial scope of the question. While there is some
useful info within those 28 emails, I'd hate to be the future person who
attempts to extract the knowledge from this list by attempting to
re-piece the multiple emails in each thread, to determine the flow of
logic throughout the multiple conversations in the thread.

I'm sure other would at least agree in part and I hope that we all take
responsibility for at least alerting the reader when subjects have
drifted from their initial context.

Thanks,
Don Andes
