I would recommend you tell Archiv, for sure. They need to know these things because I think they 
receive their digital disc images from the record companies. It would be interesting to know if they 
were given the wrong source by mistake because, although I don't have any of them, I had read very 
good reviews of the Everest reissues in the 1990's. It would be strange but not unheard of if some 
inferior digital master existed and was used by accident. Universal would definitely run into the 
possibility of this problem with the Verve/Mercury/MGM/Argo/Chess jazz because there were 
less-than-stellar-sounding reissues done in the very early days of CD's and then some were reissued 
again in the past 10 years with generally better sonic results (but not in all cases).

But, main point, you should definitely direct your comments to Archiv and I bet at least a few of us 
would be curious to hear what they say for themselves. I totally agree with what I think you're 
saying, that a good idea badly executed is not very useful.
