No! The "W" (which is included on UK labels but not on North American
ones other than some reissues) is an indication that the disc was
electrically recorded using a system patented by Western Electric in
the US...to whom royalties were paid. The "C" indicates a slightly
later electric system was used, for which Columbia (presumably EMI?)
owned the patents and no royalties were due.
