Re: [ARSCLIST] Fw: International Records

Steve,

Back in the 60's when I was in high school, I occasionally subbed in the Great Neck Symphony which was conducted (possibly guest conducted - its stretching my memory a bit at this distant vantage. I also recall that the renowned pianist Seymour Lipkin was the conductor of the same group at some point) by Sylvan Schulman at the the time. I recall that his 'cellist brother Alan once came in to play with the orchestra a piece that he had written. I recall that Alan (both he and Sylvan were members of the Stuyvesant Quartet) may have been in the NBC Symphony at some point.

Pretty sure that these are the two Schulman guys that are referred to.

Have you the names of the two Shulman brothers and, possibly, the address or addresses of the company, not to mention the years the records were available?

Is Jay Shulman related to the Shulman Brothers, who I thought were the
owners
of the label? The presence of the New Friends of Music and the Stuyvesant
Quartet led me to that belief. The American Record Label Directory lists
no
owner, just a Long Island address and a 1946 date.

Hello Dick,

Geoff Wheeler gave me your e-mail.
I am seeking information about the short-lived,
post WWII independent label, International Records.
Can you help?

Thanks,

Jay Shulman
