I have and like this Tascam unit:

You can set the "trigger index" level, but it takes some trial and error. I have nver got it to work 
satisfactorally with LPs because of ticks and pops between cuts. It may work better for cassettes, 
assuming they're not made off LPs. I generally just sit by and make the index marks where needed.

Sound quality is good and mechanism is reliable. It's a professional unit, so it works with a wide 
range of CDR blanks, including my favorites, Toyo Yuden blue-dye generics.
