at one point i heard that such a record needed to have grooves on the other side for some reason or another, although i can barely imagine why. to balance the surface tension? (joke). to give better traction on the other side? who might know about cutting vinyl like this? (mr. olhsson, hello). i do know you can cut acetates this way since the acetate has a metal inner disk (i've got some single sided acetates). maybe there's some problem in the pressing if there's no grooves?...
