A lot of this would be better suited to the 78-L list, where it's been discussed in detail many times. And no, Hit of the Week has no connection to Obie's labels, although Obie DID put out a paper-based
disc in the early 40s (lasted a couple of months, I believe, and any samples I've found have been so badly warped as to be unplayable).
