because the error persists in the post. Silicon is a semi-metal and
semiconductor found in transistors and computer chips. Silicone is a
silicon compound found nearly everywhere else. <G>
The distinction is important in terms of the chemistry and the physics
of the lubricant in question. Both silicon, the element, and each
silicone, any of the many compounds of silicon so named, are remarkable
materials but silicon is not a lubricant and no silicone is a semiconductor.
