Subject: [AMIA-L] Orquesta Tipica Victor

Good evening:

In 1925, after a contractual disagreement with the Victor company, Osvaldo Fresedo left the company to continue his discography with the rival company, Max Glücksmann's Disco Nacional-Odeon.

At Victor, in order to fill the void in their catalogues with a similar attractive sensation, Adolfo Carabelli (the artistic manager of the Buenos Aires studios) formed an in-house orchestra with the exclusive purpose of producing records. So, the "Orquesta Tipica Victor" was born and nobody ever saw or listen in public such an excelent musical ensemble...

Etc, etc, etc.

The rest of the story of this peculiar orchestra can be found somewhere else.

Is anyone interested to get a copy of the discography of this ensemble, which I just scanned from a rare magazine that have been printed almost 25 years ago, with the entire catalogue of its recordings between 1925 and 1944, when it ceased to exist?
