Hi,
After an arduous search, I have yet to find any substantial information on
the reliability and "longevity" of the minidisc as an archival medium. Sony

score on a shelf for 50 years?

I could find neither documentation nor estimate. Note that the MD has two terms: decay of information on the MO medium and failure of the parts which must move for retrieval.

Note that it's not a question likely to come up often. Without (lossy)
compression, storage capacity is low and for that and other reasons MD is
usually used for transient data, then reused.
