I just read Steve Ramm's reply which is basically correct BUT  many of the
early Edison Bell pressings did not show the true matrix number but a
control number (also in a 2000 series) so you can't take anything at face
value. If the disc in question is a British issue then dates should be found
fairly accurately; if it is a Romanian recording then not so sure.  Again I
think many discs issued on Winner in the UK (as successor to the orginal
Bell label) were continued on Bell Disc overseas.  I have a copy of the
entire Winner listings with exact recording dates so if you can confirm both
matrix numbers, and title/artist info, then if it was issued on Winner I can
help.
