The RedHOUSE, built in 1998 on the grounds of a former parking lot in urban Denver is the residence of Jan and the late Frederick Mayer. It is the first singe family residence built in downtown Denver in over 100 years and has helped to revive this historic district. The home is showplace of their extensive collections of American, pre-Columbian, Spanish Colonial and Ming Dynasty Art and antiquities. Frederick Mayer began his collecting career as a coin collector at the age of six. Some of his favorites were those from Costa Rica. This would come to be the beginnings of an extensive collection which is now the largest collection of Costa Rican pottery, gold, jade and stone outside of Costa Rica. The Mayer Collection of Spanish Colonial paintings, chests, silver and other decorative objects emphasize a Baroque European style with Mexican influence. The American Art Collection includes leading 19^th-Century artists such as Inness, Bricher, and Harnett, 20^th-Century modernists: John Storrs, Marsden Hartley, Byron Browne and Hans Hofmann, and rooftop sculptures by Kenneth Snelson, Isamu Noguchi, George Rickey, Ann Sperry and Jeffrey Maron, a watercolor collection with a concentration of American modernists dating from 1915 - 1935 and a and print collection from the 20's, 30's and 40's.

The Anschutz Collection is a private collection of American Western Art, consisting of over 750 paintings, drawings and sculptures. This visual chronological documentary of the development of the American West represents the works of more than 200 artists and illustrators who came out west or who were definitely influenced by the vast American West from the early 19^th century and on into the 20^th century. Included here are landscapes, still life, portraits and genre paintings. These works clearly demonstrate the changes in painting style and technique that transpired during the early history of our great nation.

Represented in this Collection are the early exploratory artists such as George Catlin and Alfred Jacob Miller. Works of Albert Bierstadt and Thomas Moran represent landscape paintings. Charles Russell and Frederic Remington represent the "Golden Age of Illustration" and a rich body of works from the Taos and Santa Fe area is delightful. This Collection also represents the early modernist painters such as John Marin, Stuart Davis and Georgia O'Keefe

This private Collection of American Western art has been enjoyed by millions of viewers through the United States and in 8 countries outside the US. Because it is a private collection, it is never open to the public and no photography is allowed during private viewings.
