AirlinesHawaiian Airlines is offering WAAC members "zone fare" pricing. This means that fares are available at a fixed rate for dates one week before and one week after the conference dates, roughly from October 2nd to October 18th. Fares are dependent on departure cities, which include Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Ontario, San Diego, and Phoenix. Hawaiian is quoting fares starting at 289 dollars departing from California. Portland and Seattle start at 379 dollars. When reserving please state that you are attending the Western Association for Art Conservation annual meeting to obtain group pricing. These fares will not be available until approximately August 15th. American Airlines is also offering zone fare pricing and something called "zone + 5%" meaning that they will give you zone fare pricing and if you find a cheaper fare, they will give you that fare and 5% off. The other option they are offering is 5% off all tickets booked 30 days in advance. American offers this from any city they fly out of. When booking please use authorization number A31H3AT to obtain the discounted rate. By shopping around on the web or getting a package deal for airfare, hotel and car rental you can probably get a very good deal. Booking in advance is highly recommended. |
