The Doris Duke Estate, Shangri La, recently opened for tours. Ms. Duke's private home built in the 1930's houses a remarkable collection of Islamic art and is itself an architectural landmark in Hawai'i. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday the 9th, 10th and 11th of October WAAC members may make reservations for the 11 AM tour which has been reserved for them. Each tour is 2 1/1 hours long and can accommodate up to 24 people. Buses leave from the Honolulu Academy of Arts and it takes about half an hour to drive to the Estate.
