SCHEDULE AND DETAILS OF EVENTS

WELCOMING RECEPTION

This year's welcoming reception will take place on Sunday evening, October 6th, 5pm-7pm, at the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art - better known by the acronym PICA. Located in the Pearl District, PICA is the Rose City's primary research center and venue for cutting edge art. The gallery space will be open and wine and light hors d'oeuvres will be served. After the reception you are encouraged to explore PICA's neighborhood and dine at one of the many excellent restaurants.

MEETING VENUE

Papers will be presented at the Portland Art Museum, North Wing, starting on Monday morning, October 7th. Located two blocks form the meeting hotel, we have the use of a room in the administrative wing of the institution, which used to be Portland's main Masonic Temple.

ANNUAL DINNER

This year we are holding the annual dinner at Montage - a Portland classic situated beneath the Morrison Bridge, across the river from downtown. Like the oysters they are famous for, the exterior may look grim but inside is a pearl of a place. We have the entire establishment to ourselves and have planned a night of good food and wine and excellent company. An acoustic trio will play some old time tunes and we hope that you will all dress with style and make this an evening to remember. The Silent Auction, to raise funds for a local art-related non-profit, will occupy part of the evening, so bring a donation and your checkbooks. Your dinner ticket ($36.00 per person) includes music, dinner and a glass of wine.

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON TOURS

Details of optional self guided tours of local public art and other attractions will be provided at the meeting. Portland's own Gamblin Company, manufacturers of Gamblin Artist's Colors, has generously agreed to facilitate a tour of the company factory. Due to time constraints and the size of the factory, the tour has to be limited to10 persons. Anticipating a huge interest in this opportunity, we have decided to hold a drawing for the ten spots on the tour. You will have an opportunity to put your name in the hat on Monday morning.
