Don't forget to use eBay and Craig's List for acquiring historic equipment. Make sure the seller uses extra care in wrapping and padding for shipment. The option to return if you don't like its preformance would be nice. However, most surplus sellers don't offer return. Their lower prices reflect the risk you are taking, even if they say the light comes on when the unit is power-up. The best resellers will know how to access the head wear meter on the back, or, the on-screen report of how many hours are on the head(s). An image made from a monitor screen showing 'head use history' or a test pattern would be a real plus. |
