1. A completely unsized sheet of paper, and one

Handmade paper in its initial stage of
manufacture, consisting of paper fibers spread
evenly over the surface of the hand mold; they are
then removed and pressed between felts. As it is
unsized, it is very absorbent and has low water
resistance. It is generally surface sized to make
