shoder

The packet of 1,160 gold sheets interleaved between sheets of goldbeater's skin 4 1/2 inches square. The "shoder" is the second beating stage in the the manufacture of GOLD LEAF , and is a more delicate stage than the CUTCH (1) but less so than the MOLD (2) . See also: GOLDBEATING .
