Death Notice: Ursula McCracken

This notice is posted on behalf of Esther Méthé, Margaret Wing Dodge Chair in Conservation and Chief Conservator, The Textile Museum:

 

 

Ursula Eland McCracken, the Director of The Textile Museum in Washington, DC from 1986 to 2004, died on March 17, 2008. She was a wonderful manager, frank and open minded, always graceful. She had the ability to bring out the best in the people that worked with her.  She had the most beautiful and contagious laugh that will be dearly missed.

 

On Saturday May 10 from two to four in the afternoon, there will be an informal remembrance at The Textile Museum in Washington, DC.
