| Dear All, I am investigating the date of a painting executed on a plain weave canvas composed of cellulose and polyethylene terphthalate fibers. The literature reports that polyethylene terphthalate was patented and first produced as a fiber in 1941. I would be grateful to know if any list members know of other literature or technical studies that point to earlier uses of polyethylene terphthalate fibers.
