Hello colleagues, I need some advice for the storage of some big and heavy textiles
in Argentina.
Here in Buenos Aires, the Colon
Theatre, the Opera House, is under restoration, the original velvet
curtains of the whole theatre and all textiles ornements from 1910 to 1930
need to be store for two years and there is still no security that they will be
restored, some will be replaced but some will not.
Some curtains are very big , 3,5 m x 3 m,
they are all in cotton damask or wool or cotton velvet and embroidered so
many of them can not be rolled for storage, because they are double side velvet
and lined and are very thick, which other way of storage can be used?. Can they
be stored hung? They are over 300 in different sizes and there is not a big
space.
