Dear Educator:
Are you still using 10-year-old Census demographics?
The U.S. Census Bureau released the first data from
the 2000 U.S. Census in March. Data files are available
for -free- download from their web site (see below).
If you don't have the inclination, skills or time
to download and process the Census Bureau's data dumps,
or if you need precise boundaries, historic data, or maps,
consider getting Census data from GeoLytics.
GeoLytics is a small, socially-responsible software developer
that licenses demographic reference software (on CD) to academia
for a -fraction- of what companies like Claritas, GDT, AGS,
Experian, and others charge for sometimes inferior material
"by the spoonful".
Over 2,800 libraries, universities and government agencies
Trust GeoLytics to provide demographic and mapping data
that's easy-to-use, comprehensive, and affordable.
If your campus library does not already offer these products
(called CensusCD) you should ask them to get it. If your department
uses this material, get free information below.
