For information regarding the chemical class of a surfactant, its concentration (in the container), its HLB, McCutcheon's Emulsifiers and Detergents is a standard reference work. The address of the manufacturer of each surfactant is listed, with name, address, telephone & fax so you can contact the manufacturer for additional information, like critical micelle concentration and, for nonionics, cloud point. McCutcheon's comes out annually, I think, in 2 volumes--International edition and North American edition. The website is www.gomc.com  There is also an ACS (American Chemical Society) resource book that arrived recently. ACS members will find surfactant sources there as well.
