I recently had our old shrink wrap wand repaired. It was at
least as expensive to repair it as it would have been to buy a new sealer, but
I was told by the repairman (at the company from whom we purchased the machine
originally, and which still sells shrink wrap machines) that none of the new
models come with a wand that is not mounted with a hinge at one end. Our 24” wand is attached to the transformer with a heavy
8-foot cord and special plug, which means that we can use it for materials of
any size just by moving it around on the 36”x36” insulated pad
(which rolls up for storage). I don’t know who manufactures the machines
or whether the change involves a safety issue, but if you can’t get a new
one like this maybe you could look into finding a used one. (Sorry, I’m
not selling mine!) I decided to send the response to the group in case there’s
