Re: [padg] listserv instructions

Here are some I've adapted from another list I own (I do *not* (anymore) own this one!):

To subscribe to padg or remove yourself from padg in the future, follow these instructions:

1. Go to http://lists.ala.org/wws/info/padg
2. Click on either 'subscribe' or 'unsubscribe' on the left hand side
3. Enter your email address and hit the gray button

To view the archives and manage your existing subscription (which includes setting yourself up for digest, where you get just one email a day with all of the days postings, instead of receiving each one individually) you will need a password. To get yours simply follow these steps:

To get your password:
1. Go to http://lists.ala.org
2. Select 'Login' on the top left of the page
3. Click 'Send me a password'
4. Type in your email address (you must use the one that you wish to be subscribed to padg with)
4. Once the password has been sent to you, and you retrieve it from your email account, go back to http://lists.ala.org . Now click on the Login button in the upper left corner and use the password to log in
5. After you have logged in, select 'Preferences' to change your password to something youll remember--though the software is very good about "remembering you"

To manage your subscription:
1. Select 'Your subscriptions' on the top right side of the page
2. Select padg@xxxxxxx
3. Use the links on the left for Subscriber Options (such as setting yourself up for digest), Unsubscribe (remove yourself from the list), Archive (view and search the list archives), Post (to send a message to padg--you can also do this from your personal email account--just send to padg@xxxxxxx ).

BTW: Making the page at http://lists.ala.org easier to use is on our list of things to do ... and we'll get there, but there are a few other web issues we're tackling first!

Dear PADGers,

Can someone send instructions for signing up for this list? I need to
pass it along but the information has, um... evolved... since I signed
up three years ago. Instructions aren't readily located through ALA's
lists.

Best,
Vicky McCargar
