[PADG:1207] RE: Library bindings from other countries

Tempted, hell!  We do have books from other countries (India springs to mind) delivered bound.  While the binding is considerably cheaper in dollars, it is often cheaper in quality as well.  Also, I wonder how this matches up with decisions not to bind paperbacks automatically.

Morning,

I'm curious if other institutions are being tempted 
by their book suppliers from other countries (China, Turkey, etc.) to have books 
on a purchasing plan bound, for considerably less money, prior to 
shipment.  We have offers from suppliers and I'd like to see if anyone else 
has similar experiences and how they are/were handled.

Also, if this 
topic generates a good amount of discussion I'd like it to be continued at the 
Library Binding DG at Midwinter.
