[PADG:264] Re: display of multiple engravings

Gary

The British Library is now using a series of vertical "drawers" or sliding frames to show a major stamp collection. This may be of interest to you, as it keeps the the stamps free of light when they are not being viewed, and the drawers can be made quite robust to withstand constant use.

Another plus is the use of space. Although the system needs a false wall to hold the unused images, they are invisible when not in use, and the space seems less cluttered. The area below the sliding frames could be used for horizontal drawers for flat storage of other materials.

If properly made, frames and drawers can be microclimate controlled for humidity.

Subject: [PADG:252] display of multiple engravings

We need a vender for a type of exhibit case. This is the type of case in which individual display panes are hinged like a book permitting inspection of a series of engravings. We have looked at low end poster display units and they are inadequate.

Any suggestions?
