[PADG:1943] job opening - head of public services - University of Hawaii at Hilo



Librarian III: 24 post-baccalaureate credits; 3 years of experience in
public services in a college or university library.  Librarian IV: 2nd
masters degree in subject area; 7 years of public services experience in a
college or university library. Desirable qualifications:  Evidence of
appropriate and progressively increasing supervisory or management
experience in academic public services, including implementing effective
user services initiatives; excellent oral and written communication skills;
strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues, mentor
staff, and resolve personnel issues.  Experience in bibliographic
instruction; with writing library promotional literature and creating
student resource materials; with providing electronic reference assistance.
Knowledge of best practices and current trends in the provision of excellent
library public services; ADA regulations related to patron access; teaching
methods and instructional design for information literacy.  Demonstrated
ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff and colleagues in
a multicultural environment.  Experience with grant writing; fundraising;
developing and assessing academic public services through performance
measures focused on student outcomes. Pay Range: Librarian III: $38,184 -
$56,520; Librarian IV:  $ 46,452 - $68,760. To apply:  Submit letter of
