[PADG:1189] Re:Date due slips/use of free flies on paperbacks

We have a policy of pasting our date due slips on the free fly of the 
endpaper so that stamping the date puts pressure on the text block 
rather than on the board and hinge.  When we started sending 
paperbacks to the shelf without hardback bindings, we found that 
many of them have no blank last page to receive the date due slip.  
In those cases, we began tipping a free fly in between the last page 
and the back cover.  Because the work load has become prohibitively 
large, we now are searching for an alternative.  Is anyone opting to 
place the date due slip on the insides of back covers?  If so, are you 
seeing a lot of damage from the impact of stamping?  Are you doing 
without date due slips altogether?  Other solutions?
