[PADG:1179] HVAC contaminant on books?

A library in our area just had an HVAC event, and about 100
general-collection books have been affected by a greenish fluid which they
tell me is polypropylene glycol. Can anyone tell me whether there is an
effective and reasonable remediation method, or should they plan to replace
the affected materials?
