You might want to look at a product called Rabbet Guard Tape - Museum
Quality.  It can be used on finished or unfinished wood.  It comes in rolls
3/4" x 72 yds.  It is a pH neutral adhesive on 2 mil grey opaque mylar film
that seals acid from migrating onto the artwork
