Selling our disaster recovery idea

Richard and others;

What exactly are we looking for in seeking intitutional name support for
the mutual assistance grant? What does the supporting institution need
to do and what does it get in return?

I also would like to know how nice looking these cargo containers will be.
I am going to be talking with our facilities person to try and convince them
to place one here at Sun Microsystems Menlo Park. Our disaster coordinator
already supports the idea of having cargo containers with records recovery
supplies. She was already planning to place cargo containers at several of
our building sites that contain facilities type supplies (wrenches, etc.).
This would be a natural companion to that effort.

Any information and/or suggestions I could use in selling the idea of Sun
participating in both arms of this effort would be appreciated.

On the disaster mutual response network front, we are receiving a very
positive response. A number of institutions have said yes in terms of
lending their names to a planned grant proposal. Others are still
discusing it with their managements, but expect to come in.
