[AV Media Matters] playback stylii for home-recorded 78s

someone on here may be able to help me with this--

i'm recording bands with a wilcox-gay recordette 78rpm
recorder, using whatever blank discs i can find (i.e.,
both paper and metal bases). some of these discs will
be played as part of performances also.

i read that certain stylii will compromise the sound
of/ruin these discs. are there any types/shapes of
stylus i should look to use to play these back with
modern turntables? i currently use a rega stylus on a
planar 2 for 33s and 45s, and have a crap BSR 78
player (as well as the wilcox-gay itself) in need of
new needles. (i'd prefer not upgrading to a high-end
78 player right now.)

any thoughts/resources/stores online or otherwise?

thanks.
