RE: [AV Media Matters] CD-R Duplicators

Just to be safe, I would not consider a 8X copy to be archival,
unless I had nothing else available. But having said that, There is
no reason why a disc made on a properly working burner should have
any higher error rate than one made at 2X or 1X. In fact depending
on the equipment and discs used, it may be possible that the 1X or
2X disc could have a higher error rate. The real longevity problem
lies in the manufacture of the disc. Make some test cuts at 1X, 2
X and 8X using the same burner and same brand of blank disc and have
them tested.

The article in Medialine was heavily edited. I've read the complete
article( sent to me by the author) and thee is really not enough
data to make any conclusions from his tests. His comments on 1X
cuts were base on 1 disc> Not valid by reasonable standard of
testing.

Try www.microboards.com and www.mediaform.com. cost depends on how
many burners and what features you want.
