[AV Media Matters] CLIR: Preservation Science Survey now available



Greetings,

Just spent a pleasant night being updated about preservation science
inititiatives and their results from around the world and want to share with
you how to be equally informed and enlightened. A number of the contributors
are AMIA members. It includes chapters on Paper-Film and Photographic
materials- and Magnetic tape,  and is organized to list the failure
mechanisms under decay, treatment and storage and concludes with a list of
where the science gaps are. The 47 page document (62 pages with all the
references which provide addresses of contacts and institutes, and an index
of projects noted in the survey, by institute). It is authored by Henk J.
Porck and Rene Teygeler, and is entitled: "Preservation Science Survey - An
Overview of Recent Developments in Research on the Conservation of Selected
Analog Library and Archival Materials". It is published by the Council on
