RE: [AV Media Matters] Preservation issues of cd - security strips

At the University of Oregon we found our CD thieves wanted the case
as much as they wanted the CD, so we put a "regular" strip inside
the spine of the jewel box. We use the 3M DAC-1 strips for audio
cassettes because the size is right (we throw out the stupid labels
that come with them). Since we have regular 3M gates & sensitizers,
not the fancy new ones that work for magnetic materials, we take the
new strips to our regular book sensitizer and activate them. Then
the regular gates recognize them, and we don't have to worry about
adhesive and balance on the CD. Works great.
