Re: [ARSCLIST] Convert Edison Standard Phonograph to 4-minute?

Hello Sammy,

Wyatt's Musical Americana in California or Tim Fabrizio in Rochester
will have all the parts you need to perform the conversion. You will
need only a couple of sizes of small screwdrivers and some mechanical
ability to install the parts.

There are no holes to drill and everything is reversible to convert it
back to a 2 minute machine if you ever want to.

Make sure you get gearing which isn't worn. I don't know of anyone who
is making all new gearing.

Best !

Subject: [ARSCLIST] Convert Edison Standard Phonograph to 4-minute?

I have had an Edison Standard Phonograph for several years with only the
ability to play 2-minute cylinders. Is it possible to convert the
machine
to play 4-minute cylinders? I know these kits were sold when 4-minute
records were introduced, but is there anything available today?

No need to suggest a Model H reproducer; I play cylinders with the ACT
Reproducer. It has cartridges for both 2-minute and 4-minute records.

Thanks,
Sammy Jones
