Ella Fitzgerald and Chick Webb ushered in the swing era changing popular
music forever. Sinatra knew perfectly well he was standing on her shoulders
along with every other successful pop and jazz singer that followed her.
It's amazing how few people in the U.S. today realize how important or how
famous they were.
