Re: [ARSCLIST] Tube amps

There are many tube amp gurus in Texas. Are you looking for an adobe finish?

Good thing I can repair the tube amps myself, and as long as someone sells me the recone kit, I do the reconing as well. I've done at least a couple hundred over the years. Don't ask, my liver is already trashed enough from sniffing all the solvent fumes from cleaning the speaker baskets...

Most mid to large size cities have a high end audio dealer, who can tell
you if your speakers are either good enough to service,or if they are
too far gone for this.Speakers are easy for them. It's tubes and
turntables many of them can't handle, what with the emphasis on home
theatre in the past fifteen years.I have to get somebody who is willing
to drive me from Albuquerque,to Santa Fe when I need work done. Those
tube amps are too heavy to hold on yor lap on a bus.

I guess I don't dare tell this group that I've had success with a
band-aid fix involving duct tape....

You might inquire at your local music store. The one that sells high
end rock & roll gear. They'll be able to put you in touch with a good
professional reconing service. Those high wattage speakers take a lot
of abuse and reconing is not unheard of!

Hello!

Both of my woofer foam surrounds are shot and I was wondering if
somebody on this list has any recommendations where to get them
refoamed. I believe they are 8" oem dynaudio woofers.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
